Day 7 9/19 Back to Epcot

Today we are heading back to Epcot to see the things that we missed and redo some of our favs. Ron is still not feeling really well so he decides to stay in bed and will catch up with us later. So we hop on the bus and are off to Epcot. Kids must text thier peeps to let them know whats up!

First stop “Club Cool”. This is a really neat place where you can sample different soft drinks from around the world. Some are tasty and some not so much. I had been forewarned about a Beverage called Beverly from Italy, it is quite bitter and nasty. The kids however did not know and drank up! Man I wish I had my camera ready for that!

We did manage to try it on an unsuspecting mom…here is her Yuk face. Mike had to have a “bottle” of coke. They are insulated alum cans shaped like bottles and Breanne got some cola flavored chapstick.

Then we went on to The Seas for a visit with Nemo and Friends.
We wound our way through the queue for this ride and really enjoyed the beachy scenery.

Soon we approached the moving walkway OH JOY! I knew this was going to be an adventure getting my mom onto after some struggle she managed to step on, we boarded our "clam-mobiles" and were off to sea with Nemo. This ride was cute. That’s about it. After Nemo we watched Turtle Talk with Crush and then walked around the aquarium for a while enjoying the animals.

When we left Epcot the last time we had only made it about ½ way around the world showcase so we decided to start at the other end and work back to where we had left off. So off to Mexico we went. I got a call from Ron he was feeling better and on the bus over to Epcot. He would meet us at the Mexico Pavilion. This is a really beautiful Pavilion. The outside modeled after an Aztec Temple of Quetzalcoatl (the god of life) at Teotihuacan. The inside looks like a Mexican village at night. There is tons of Mexican crafts and the wood carving are amazing…. Expensive too! We took the Grand Fiesta tour, which is a boat ride featuring Donald Duck and friends. We walked around the pavilion and enjoyed that crafts and atmosphere then we decided it was margarita time! Believe me by this point in the trip, I was need all the alcohol I could get!

After a refreshing drink and snacks, we had Margaritas and the kids had sodas and Churros, we headed off to Norway! 1st up Maelstrom! This is a fun boat ride where you travel back in time to days of Norway past. Mom tired of maneuvering in and out of boats etc. so she sat this one out.

After the boat ride we played around in the gift shop and had our turn at being Vikings! Scary aren’t they! Then Ron wanted to sample one of the Norwegian beers and I had to have one of the yummy looking cream filled pastries. After a potty break we moved on to China.

This place is spectacular. The shops were filled was amazing trinkets and the building were just amazing. We spent A LOT of time wandering the gift shops and looking at everything. In the center of the Pavilion we caught the end of a pretty cool acrobat show. It was now starting to get later in the day and Ron and the kids wanted to try to get on some rides before they closed down.
So we parted ways. They went to ride Test Track and Mission Space and Mom and I continued around the World Showcase. Stopping at Italy for a lovely glass of sparkling pink champagne! We all met back up in front of the world showcase and because everyone was tired decided to call it a night and head back to POP and have our dinner at the food court there.

Looking back

I thought Tammy had a great idea about posting photos from the past.  So in keeping with her "theme" here are some blasts from my past.  The sad thing is that my mom was not very good at record keeping so in most of the photos I have no idea how old I am.
My mom loved the swirl doo.  I am sure this had a name and I was always sure to be sporting it.

My Brother Eddie and I at my grandmas house in Nevada.
A bike for Christmas!

1976 Bodega Bay California.  Rockin the head band!!!

Hey! That's not fair giving a gal a shot down there!

Lucky me I get to start B12 injections on Thursday.  Apparently my B12 levels are dangerously low.  So once a week for a month then once monthy injections are in my future. Yay!  I am really hoping that they do not hurt!  Big baby alert!

Man I can't believe that it is only Tuesday! I am so tired this week. Aside from the low B12 I think I am just emotionally drained and that is really wearing me down.  House full of crazies, myself included.  Sometimes I really wish I lived all alone.

My weekend

So this is the year for High School Graduations.  I know kids graduate every year but for us this seems to be the year everyone we know is graduating.  Breanne graduated last year and most of her freinds were a year behind her.  Boy did that year fly by.  I attended Tylers Graduation ceremony at the Tacoma dome.  Since Breanne did not walk at her commencment I was imagining what it would have been like to sit in the stands and cheer her on.  It was a very nice cermony followed by an awseome party at Linda and Gregs.  I still can't believe that the kids are now 18 and out of high school.

Seems like just the other day they were so little.  Not anymore!

So not only are the kids on a journey to discover what to do with the rest of thier lives it also leaves us parents wondering what to do after raising our kids for 18 years.

What's Happening

Trying to "catch" up on my blog.  Want to finish blogging our WDW trip too.  So I will be posting lots soon.
Moms hip relacement went well she spent about 2 weeks in the hospital and rehab so she missed having Christmas at home.  We took Christmas to her at the rehab facility.  She is now home and back to work!  My EGD was clear and everything looked good!  Although Breanne moved her stuff back home we never see her!  LOL!  She will be starting school in the fall and assures me that she IS looking for a job...I however am not convinced!

WDW day 6 9/18 More of the Studios

1st up Toy Story Mania!  This ride was fun.
Then on to Light, Motors, Action.  This was an awesome stunt car show.  They kinda give you the behind the scenes secrets and it was really cool to watch.
After the stunt show Ron was not feeling good so he headed back to the resort for a nap.  We were crazy hot so we stopped for Ice cream.  Here the kids are enjoying there tasty treats.
Next up Rock-N-Rollercoster.  This ride is really fun.  I think the kids went a few times while g-ma and i rested in the shade.
We then watched the Indian Jones Stunt show.  This was funny.  Here is one of the fight scenes.
For dinner we had reservations at the 50's Prime Time Cafe.  We love this place.  We ate here when Breanne was 4 and she remembers the smores desert.  This resturaunt is 50's themed and it is like the homes and kitchens of the day.   Here are Breanne and Mike waiting in the "living room" for our reservation to be called.
Resting on one of the sofas.
Here we are at our table.  Mickey Mouse club was on the TV. YAY!
Mom and I had the Meatloaf, Mike got Fried chicken and I don't remember wht Bre got.  I think the chicken too. Then Dessert!  Here is Mike looking at the dessert menu...yup! it is on a view finder.  How sweet is that!

Here are the AMAZING smores!  Breanne and I both got this!  Mom got a Angel food cake with berries that was yummy and Mike got the build your own Sundae.
Breanne digging into the smores!

Mike creating his Sundae masterpiece!  Dinner was great!  After dinner we are off to explore more of the park and see Fantasmic!

On the way to Fantasmic we stopped to watch these performers.  They were very funny.  Then outta now where this squirrell ran into the street and realized he had no where to go.  People were everywhere.

He darted back and forth quite unsure of what to do.  Finally he just ran for it and straight up a tree right next to me.  He stole the show for tha moment.

As we waited in line for fanstamic we all put on our glow in the dark braclets.

The show was awsome!  My pictures don't really do it justice.  The stadium was packed too!

The end...of Fanstasmic that is.  After the show we s..l..o..w..l..y made our way out of the park and caught the bus back to POP!  It was a good day!

Camano Island Treasure Hunt

Feb 20th we headed to Camano Island for their 1st annual Treasure hunt.  You are suposed to look for clues that will lead you to a treasure.  The treasure is a hand blown glass ball.  We were very lucky to have choosen such a fabulous day to go exploring.  We started at Freedom park where we picked up our treasure maps and guide books and then set out to explore the Island.  Our Merry band of travelers included, Ron, Liz, Carri and Myself.  We walked around Freedom park then headed to score some lunch.  After lunch we visited an Alpaca farm.  So cute they are.  Alpaca fix fulfilled we headed to the beach to explore.

We found TONS of creatures under the rocks.  Here is one of the critters!  We must have walked for miles but neved did spot any clue balls.  Darn it! After a day of seeing the beautiful Island we stopped at the Tulalip casino onthe drive home.  Ron and Ileft our money behind...but Carri and Liz both did very well. It was a super nice day and we all had a blast!

Happy Birthday Marsha

Things were so busy this year that we waitied until after all of the holidays and New Years were done and then had a nice party at our house for my Birthday.  It was such a blast!  We had great food from Longhorn BBQ and we grilled some smoked sausage.  After much drinking and eating we played a very hilarious game of Pervartistry.  Learned that most of are already perverts...LOL.  Learned alot of "new" words too.  A good time was had by all.

Christmas

We had a very nice Christmas this year.  Carol, Arianna, Janie, Breanne, Mike, Ron and me.  Ron worked the night before so he only got about 4 hours of sleep.  The plan was for eveyone to arrive about 3 to open gifts then have a nice dinner.  I was making Prime Rib and Ham.  Well 3 came and went and no sign of Carol , not suprised!  So I wrapped up dinner so we could eat and just as I was finishing Her and Anna arrived.  We had a delish dinner and then got to the gifts.
