The eyes have it.

Today was eye day for all of us except Breanne.  She did not want to try the new eye place here in town and decided instead to go back to Pearle.  Or at least she is supposed to but I will bet the within a few weeks times she will come to me saying "Mommy...would you make me an eye appointment at your eye place" Mark my words!

So Ron, Mike and then me all met with Dr Laura Toepfer at Sumner family eye care today.  We really liked her and thought she was very thorough, nice and helpful.  New prescriptions all around.  Ron really needed new glasses with distance and reading as he has officially reached the old man can't read crap stage of his life.  Mike's prescription actually improved!  And mine was tweaked ever so slightly.  Becasue I have Diabetes though they HAVE to dilate my eyes to check them and man did that suck.  From about 4-7:30 I was so blind.  Now things are slightly more in focus but still not back to normal.  Both Ron and I are getting regular bi-focal lenses.  My old lenses were progressive bi-focals and I did not like then at all.  I just could not adjust to the 3 different vision fields.  So YAY! Old people glasses....guess that means we are officially in the old people club now! Ugh!

9/21 Our last day at WDW and our adventure home.

So here we are on the last day of our Walt Disney World adventure.  We want to get an early start as we will only have a few hours to visit parks before heading to the airport.  We decide today will be Animal Kingdom as we did not get to spend much time there and Mom want to get a Dinasour for Jack.

Got some pics outta the way.  The picture with baby Simba is one that Breanne had been waiting for.  It was on her must have list.  This was to be a very quick visit.  We headed straight to the Dinosaur ride so mom and I could hit the gift shop.  Ron, Breanne and Mike went on the ride while we shopped.  We listened to this really good african group of musicians and then our time was up... :(

We hoped the bus back to our resort to wait for the Magic Express to take us to the airport.

On the bus  ride to the airport the skies open up and it begins to rain like crazy.  We are also treated to thunder and lightning.  We arrive safetly at the airport only to hear that all of the flight to Atlanta are delayed due to weather.  UGH!  Sonow we have to decise if we want to just stay the night in Orlando or hang out at the airport hoping to get on a flight.  We ultimatley decide it is better to get to Atlanta when there is a break in the weather and stay the night there.  So after a 4 hour delay we are on the plane to Atlanta.  The flight was uneventful and soon we are looking through the airport hotel directory trying to decide where to go for the night.  We choose a random hotel and go outside to wait for the shuttle.  As it turns out the place that I so wisely selected is not only in the "hood" of Atlanta it is undergoing construction!  I am not being a snob either the hotel staff told us.."Do not go out at night, this is a really bad neighborhood"!  NICE!  So we ate dinner at the onsite restaraunt, got our compimentary overnight pack....yes you see ALL of our luggage was in route to Seattle, and went to bed.  The next day after our continental breakfast we crammed into the hotels shuttle van like sardines and headed back to the airport.  This time we boarded our flight with no delays and were on our way home.

This was our cozy Atlanta hotel room.
So our trip comes to and end.  We had some highs and some really low lows. But just like the pain of childbirth the bad times seems to be fading in my memory and the good times I hope will  be the memories that are long lasting!

9/20 Day 8 part 2 Magic Kingdom

Back at the Magic Kingdom we found a Photopass photographer and got some pictures in.

We looked around some of the shops on main street and toured the Town Square Exposition Hall.  This is mini-museum, which includes a display that pays homage to the early days of the motion picture industry. There are also large cut-outs of movie scenes that you can pose with for cute photo ops! Which of course my kids did!  Ron took advantage of the Air conditioned theatre that was playing cartoons and decided to sit down and put his feet up.

+
After playing around in the expo hall we headed out to Main Street. Just in time to meet this guy!

We listened to this very funny marching band stopped for root beer floats and after much grumbling decided it was just too hot to stay at the MK any longer.  Back to POP for a dip in the pool.  We had no plans for dinner so I called the dining reservation line to see what was available at DTD.  Luck would have it we could get into Planet Hollywood.  Off we went to the bus and over to DTD.

Dinner at planet hollywood was delicious.  I think I got ribs! Brea got this amazing BBQ pulled pork sandwich, Mike got ...a Cheeseburger but I can't remember what mom and Ron had.  For desert we had Key lime Pie, Strawberry Cheesecake and the kids split the HUGE brownie sundae.  They though they would not be able to eat ANY of it but nearly polished it off it was soo good.

After that great meal we enjoyed a very nice walk through DTD listened to some of the live music, did some shopping and took a few pictures on the way back to the bus.

Love this lego family even better with my own thrown in the mix!
