9/20 Day 8 part 2 Magic Kingdom

Back at the Magic Kingdom we found a Photopass photographer and got some pictures in.

We looked around some of the shops on main street and toured the Town Square Exposition Hall.  This is mini-museum, which includes a display that pays homage to the early days of the motion picture industry. There are also large cut-outs of movie scenes that you can pose with for cute photo ops! Which of course my kids did!  Ron took advantage of the Air conditioned theatre that was playing cartoons and decided to sit down and put his feet up.

After playing around in the expo hall we headed out to Main Street. Just in time to meet this guy!

We listened to this very funny marching band stopped for root beer floats and after much grumbling decided it was just too hot to stay at the MK any longer.  Back to POP for a dip in the pool.  We had no plans for dinner so I called the dining reservation line to see what was available at DTD.  Luck would have it we could get into Planet Hollywood.  Off we went to the bus and over to DTD.

Dinner at planet hollywood was delicious.  I think I got ribs! Brea got this amazing BBQ pulled pork sandwich, Mike got ...a Cheeseburger but I can't remember what mom and Ron had.  For desert we had Key lime Pie, Strawberry Cheesecake and the kids split the HUGE brownie sundae.  They though they would not be able to eat ANY of it but nearly polished it off it was soo good.

After that great meal we enjoyed a very nice walk through DTD listened to some of the live music, did some shopping and took a few pictures on the way back to the bus.

Love this lego family even better with my own thrown in the mix!

9/20 Brunch at Chef Mickey's Day 8 part 1

Today we are celebrating Birthdays!  My moms especially as hers is actually 9/21 but Ron and I as well just for the heck of it!  We get up bright and earlyish...and head over to the Magic Kingdom.  We want to take in a few attractions before we have to get on the monorail and head over to Chef Mickeys.  Our first stop for the day was Stitches Great escape.  Unfortunatly we all thought this attractions was major lame!  Next was Monsters Inc Laugh factory.  This was a riot!  We all thouroughly enjoyed this attraction and laughed our hineys off!

After Monster we high tailed it to the monorail to get over the Contemporary resort and our brunch with Mickey and friends.  The monorail ride was fun and we got to see some glimpses of the Polonysian resort on our way over.  We arrived at Chef Mickeys Checked in and had our picture taken.  Then we waited and waited and waited....finally we were called and taken to our table.

Ron showing off his birthday cupcake.  Yummy.  We all hit the buffet and filled our plates.  Soon it was time for napkin twirlin and celebrating!
Breanne really got into it!  Right after napkin fun the charactors started making thier way over to our table.  First up Mickey.  Ron and mom smilin with the Mouse!
Now it is Mike and Breannes turn to pose with Chef Mickey.
Up Next Minnie Mouse.
Pluto paused to day hello.
What! No Donald....boy was Ron mad. Donald just passed him by.
We did get a visit from goofy though.
After we finished our meal we of course headed to the gift shops to check out the goods.  We found some awesome hats.  and the perfect outfit for Breanne.  She did not seem to agree it seems.
We then headed back to the Monorail to return to the Magic Kingdom.

Day 7 9/19 Back to Epcot

Today we are heading back to Epcot to see the things that we missed and redo some of our favs. Ron is still not feeling really well so he decides to stay in bed and will catch up with us later. So we hop on the bus and are off to Epcot. Kids must text thier peeps to let them know whats up!

First stop “Club Cool”. This is a really neat place where you can sample different soft drinks from around the world. Some are tasty and some not so much. I had been forewarned about a Beverage called Beverly from Italy, it is quite bitter and nasty. The kids however did not know and drank up! Man I wish I had my camera ready for that!

We did manage to try it on an unsuspecting mom…here is her Yuk face. Mike had to have a “bottle” of coke. They are insulated alum cans shaped like bottles and Breanne got some cola flavored chapstick.

Then we went on to The Seas for a visit with Nemo and Friends.
We wound our way through the queue for this ride and really enjoyed the beachy scenery.

Soon we approached the moving walkway OH JOY! I knew this was going to be an adventure getting my mom onto after some struggle she managed to step on, we boarded our "clam-mobiles" and were off to sea with Nemo. This ride was cute. That’s about it. After Nemo we watched Turtle Talk with Crush and then walked around the aquarium for a while enjoying the animals.

When we left Epcot the last time we had only made it about ½ way around the world showcase so we decided to start at the other end and work back to where we had left off. So off to Mexico we went. I got a call from Ron he was feeling better and on the bus over to Epcot. He would meet us at the Mexico Pavilion. This is a really beautiful Pavilion. The outside modeled after an Aztec Temple of Quetzalcoatl (the god of life) at Teotihuacan. The inside looks like a Mexican village at night. There is tons of Mexican crafts and the wood carving are amazing…. Expensive too! We took the Grand Fiesta tour, which is a boat ride featuring Donald Duck and friends. We walked around the pavilion and enjoyed that crafts and atmosphere then we decided it was margarita time! Believe me by this point in the trip, I was need all the alcohol I could get!

After a refreshing drink and snacks, we had Margaritas and the kids had sodas and Churros, we headed off to Norway! 1st up Maelstrom! This is a fun boat ride where you travel back in time to days of Norway past. Mom tired of maneuvering in and out of boats etc. so she sat this one out.

After the boat ride we played around in the gift shop and had our turn at being Vikings! Scary aren’t they! Then Ron wanted to sample one of the Norwegian beers and I had to have one of the yummy looking cream filled pastries. After a potty break we moved on to China.

This place is spectacular. The shops were filled was amazing trinkets and the building were just amazing. We spent A LOT of time wandering the gift shops and looking at everything. In the center of the Pavilion we caught the end of a pretty cool acrobat show. It was now starting to get later in the day and Ron and the kids wanted to try to get on some rides before they closed down.
So we parted ways. They went to ride Test Track and Mission Space and Mom and I continued around the World Showcase. Stopping at Italy for a lovely glass of sparkling pink champagne! We all met back up in front of the world showcase and because everyone was tired decided to call it a night and head back to POP and have our dinner at the food court there.

Looking back

I thought Tammy had a great idea about posting photos from the past.  So in keeping with her "theme" here are some blasts from my past.  The sad thing is that my mom was not very good at record keeping so in most of the photos I have no idea how old I am.
My mom loved the swirl doo.  I am sure this had a name and I was always sure to be sporting it.

My Brother Eddie and I at my grandmas house in Nevada.
A bike for Christmas!
