Day off!

So today I took the day off of work to get a bunch of needed work done around the house. I 've been compiling a list, a very long list, of Honey do's and my honey isn't doing any of them! So I thought if I took the day off I could help motivate him. Ron's days off are wierd and this week he has Tuesday and Wednesday.


Here is part of my list. The stuff I had hoped we could get done today.

1. Convert Mike's loft bed into a regular bed.
2. Deep clean and rearrange Mike's room
3. Take down and store Air conditioners (Hello! It's November)
4. Clean and store patio furniture and cushions
5. Change/replace all burnt out light bulbs in house
6. Shampoo bedroom carpet
7. Finish last section of fence

Mind you this was just what I wanted to get done today! And as it turns out we didn't get that far.
We got an early start to things. I was up at 6:00 and litterally forced Ron out of bed at 7:30. Mike's bed conversion turned out to be a MAJOR ordeal. Plus his room was a horror! So we spent many hours in there. I did get all of the patio stuff cleaned and put away and Ron got 1 of the A/C's out of the window. It is still sitting on the floor in the front room but the window is cleaned and closed! Yippee! By 12:30 we were starving so Ron decided we needed to break for lunch and SHOPPING. When we returned Ron was dead! He had been dragging all morning but now he was completely DEAD! There was no waking him to get anything else done. Needless to say I was not very happy about this. I still had to finish Mike's room, make dinner, supervise homework, Family Game night and get everything ready for bed/work. So as Ron slept through EVERYTHING, even a very noisy game of Yahtzee the kids and I got even.

I am hoping that Ron will get more done tommorow. (I am not holding my breath thought!)

Mike's 13th Birthday

We had Mike's 13th Birthday party last night. He had about 11 kids over. We decorated the garage in a SKULLS theme. There was music and room for dancing, complete with Disco Ball and all. Video games and Air hockey. The kids had pizza, chips, little Smokeys, cupcakes and candy. I think more food was thrown or worn then actually eatin though!

The floor was slick due to all of the cupcake goo on it so the kids were sliding around on it. Kinda garage surfing!

All the kids seemd to have a good time. The garage is a total mess which Mike will get to have fun cleaning today. I think this may be the LAST party at the house. Next year I think we will destroy the local Pizza joint!
